Nepal is a country known for its beautiful Himalayan Mountains, deep valleys and richly flowing streams. It is also a home to eight of the world’s ten tallest mountains, including the magnificent Mount Everest.
Buddhism is historically linked with Nepal but is only practiced by 16% of the population. The widely practiced religion by Nepalese is Hinduism which is about 81.3% of the population. Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam are the three officially recognized religion in Nepal. Despite the fact that the authority does not stop the practice of other religions like Christianity, it does not have its official recognition.
The Anglican Church in Nepal (ACN) was formed in 1999 by a group of interested independent churches which is a part of the Diocese of Singapore. It has since grown to a strength of more than 9,000 members in 88 congregations.
